Is There Ever A Time To Embrace Scarcity, Reject Abundance?

Posted by: 1geniuswoman on: January 26, 2010

What do you believe to be scarce in your life?

  • Fortune
  • Health?
  • Joy?
  • Love?
  • Money?
  • Peace?
  • Psychological well-being?
  • Safety?
  • Sales/business
  • Self-worth
  • Time?
  • ????

What if every time you had a thought of this scarcity you immediately turned it around and told yourself whatever was scarce was abundant in your life?  What if you then believed you were filled to overflowing with its abundance. What if you were living the abundance of it right now!

For instance, if you believe peace is scarce in your life, take a few moments to state “Peace is abundant in my life now.”  (Or words to that effect).  What do you notice when you make that statement?  Is it intriguing?  Frightening?  Wondrous?  Now visualize yourself overflowing with peace – your are so profusely abundant with peace you share it generously with others.  You are a source of ever abundant peace.  As you reframe the former scarcity belief into one of abundance, what do you notice?

As I entertained this concept it led me to wonder – if I have an abundance of ill health, shall I ask that it be scarce?  The same for debt, prefer it be scarce?  If I believe myself to be overweight, I have an abundance of excess weight – do I want that to be scarce?  As I pondered this, the bottom line became – I was fearful of the word scarce/scarcity.  Scarcity was something to be feared.  Abundance something to be desired.  Scarcity was something to reject, abundance something to embrace.

I’ll be playing with this concept and invite you to do so also. Let’s share what we notice when we decided to believe whatever we thought was scarce is now abundant and what was abundant we may want to be scarce.  How will our lives change?  How will we feel about ourselves?  I welcome your comments.

I could use the abundance of joy, peace, sales/business & self-worth in my life right now! I could also use “scarcity” of the extra fat on my body as well!!! I have noticed in the past when I would do daily affirmations for my business that my way of thinking changed positively for my business which promoted self-worth and self confidence to step out of my comfort zone, which was great! The next step is to start doing it again! Thank you for letting me share!

Hi Lori – when we forget to create from our Circle of Truth (previous posts) that’s when we don’t feel comfortable with our lives. How we wander away from that wonderful place, I’m not sure, but we certainly do! That’s the purpose of “Doorways To Daily Soul Nurturance” (of which you have a copy). It is a way to create a focus for the day that keeps you in your Circle of Truth. Thanks so much for your sharing. It is important for us to do that so we remember we are all connected in the One. Cristina

Thank you Cristina and you are so right!

Peace…. Ahhh when I say that word all melts away into a calm body. I can’t help but have a gentle smile on my face…Funny Cristina, last night at my Qi Gong class I heard the word “peace” right before I sat down to play a closing meditation for my students…I said to them I want to sing about peace…And so I did. Love it!!!
When I feel the word “scarce” I think of something rare and special…
Wonder why I don’t think “lack of”???? Love Rha

I love the “rare and special”!!!! Yessss. Beats lack! :-) I also love the way you talk about how the words feel. Words (sound) are soooo powerful, all carrying their own vibration, interacting with us, shaping and molding us. Thank LauRha!
